Message and the guy there recommended I take the cams off, take the lifters out, and then put the caps on. this way he said I could check to see if the caps connected flush against the cam guides on the head. If they didn't then just swap them back and forth until they do. Also without the lifters i can put the cams & caps back on and fully spin them to get a better feel of how they spin. well this worked great for the intake cams because they were just that different from each other. If I had even one of them on the wrong side the cam would not turn at all. So I think Im good there.

Once I got to the Exhaust cams tho it got a little more complicated. The caps are so similar that you can swap them back and forth and even upside down and the cams turn just fine. After i thought i had gotten them to where i felt ok with how the cams spun, i wiggled the passenger side cam because i felt it spun way to freely, and it actually has some play in it and it wiggles. I'm sure that's not right. Im gonna try changing them today once more to see if i can get both cams to feel more stable.

If anyone has any other ideas on how to get these cam caps on correctly let me know. Also let me know if the method im using now is not good either. Thanks
